Review of Truth Be Told

Truth Be Told

In her book, Truth Be Told, Carol Cox tells the story of Amelia Wagner who returns home to find her father dying and the newspaper he runs struggling to stay afloat. Determined to continue her father’s legacy of honest journalism, Wagner assumes the reins of the newspaper despite the challenges she faces. Just when Amelia gets her feet under her, she discovers something about a land development company her father was investigating before his death. The answers may lie closer to home than she would like to admit. Will she discover the truth before it’s too late?

Truth Be Told is a typical Christian novel. It was an easy read with a happy ending. However, the plot was plodding, lacking in suspense, and predictable. The romantic angle was sweet but unexciting. If there had been a little more mystery Truth Be Told would have been more effective. I have higher expectations for Ms. Cox’s next literary venture.

I was given a free copy from the publisher in exchange for my honest review
