Review of The Templar Legacy

In The Templar Legacy, Cotton Malone is on the hunt for the hidden treasure of the Knight’s Templar concealed for hundreds of years. Others are also on the trail, and they will not hesitate to eliminate those who stand in their way. Amidst the arrogance and greed, Cotton must form an unlikely alliance if he is to survive. Will the pact hold, or will he die just when the treasure is within his grasp?

The Templar Legacy is first of the Cotton Malone Series and is full of action and adventure. Steve Berry is a gifted storyteller, and I enjoyed the page-turning suspense and the historical references. However, the story reminded me a bit of Dan Brown’s books, as the author has the urge to discredit the New Testament text. It would have been a better story, had it not strayed into mysticism and Gnosticism. If you want to read The Templar Legacy, read it for the quest, but don’t take it as gospel truth.
